- Swelling and bruising at harvest and injection sites for 1–2 weeks; most patients return to social activity in 10–14 days.

Fat Transfer.
Fat transfer (also called fat grafting) is a natural way to restore volume and enhance contours using your own body’s fat. Fat is gently harvested from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, purified, and then strategically injected into areas like the face to improve fullness, smooth contours, and create a more youthful appearance. Because your own tissue is used, results look and feel natural, with minimal risk of allergic reaction. This procedure is commonly used to enhance the cheeks, under-eye area, jawline, and temples while also subtly improving skin quality.

Natural Volume, Restored.
Age thins the midface, temples, and jawline. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume, but nothing integrates more seamlessly than your own tissue. At Modern Dermatology, Dr. Alexander Dane uses refined harvesting and injection techniques to move fat from where it is least wanted to where it is most needed — delivering soft, natural contour restoration that can last for years.
Midface & Cheeks
Restores the youthful fullness of the cheeks and upper midface, softening the transition into the under-eye.
Temples & Under-Eyes
Gentle volume returned to the hollowed temples and tear troughs for a more rested, rejuvenated look.
Jawline Definition
Refines the lower-face contour with long-lasting autologous tissue, complementing surgical lifting procedures.

Frequently Asked.
How long do fat transfer results last?
A portion of the transferred fat integrates permanently. Results that remain after about 3–4 months tend to last for many years, and often are considered long-lasting or permanent.
Where is the fat harvested from?
The most common donor sites are the abdomen and thighs. Dr. Dane selects a site based on body composition and what will produce the cleanest, most usable graft.
Is fat transfer painful?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and tumescent technique, so both the harvest and injection are comfortable. Mild soreness at the donor site is common for a few days.
How is fat transfer different from filler?
Hyaluronic acid filler is immediate and reversible. Fat transfer uses your own tissue, often lasts dramatically longer, and can gently improve skin quality at the treated site, but it is not reversible in the same way.
