Sclerotherapy.

Sclerotherapy is the gold standard treatment for spider veins and reticular veins on the legs. At Modern Dermatology, we inject a specialized solution that collapses unwanted vessels, restoring clear, even-toned skin.

Clinical Standard

Collapse & Clear.

A sclerosing solution is injected directly into the unwanted vein using an ultra-fine needle. The solution irritates the vessel lining, causing it to collapse, seal shut, and be reabsorbed by the body over the following weeks. The overlying skin clears as blood is rerouted through healthy veins.

"

Precision Vein Treatment. Our board-certified team evaluates the extent and pattern of your leg veins to develop a customized treatment plan. For larger or deeper veins, we may combine sclerotherapy with Excel V+ laser treatment for comprehensive clearance.

Frequently Asked.

How many sclerotherapy sessions do I need?

Most patients require 2 to 4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart for optimal clearance.

Does sclerotherapy hurt?

The injections use ultra-fine needles and most patients describe only a mild stinging sensation. No anesthesia is required.

What is the downtime?

You can return to normal activity immediately. We recommend wearing compression stockings for 1-2 weeks and avoiding intense exercise for 48 hours.

Spider veins typically fade within 3 to 6 weeks. Larger veins may take 3-4 months to fully resolve.
