Skin Cancer
Screening.
In Florida's high-UV environment, annual skin cancer screening is essential. Our board-certified team utilizes advanced dermatoscopy to detect melanoma, basal cell, and squamous cell carcinoma at the earliest, most curable stage.

Early Detection Saves Lives.
Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the United States, and Florida's year-round sun exposure increases risk significantly. Early detection is critical. Our team performs comprehensive head-to-toe exams using polarized dermatoscopy to identify suspicious lesions that are invisible to the untrained eye.
Melanoma
The most serious type of skin cancer. Early detection through screening significantly improves treatment outcomes.
Basal Cell Carcinoma
The most common skin cancer. Slow-growing but locally destructive if left untreated. Usually appears on sun-exposed areas.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
The second most common. Can metastasize if not caught early. Frequently develops from pre-cancerous actinic keratoses.

Frequently Asked.
How often should I get screened?
We recommend annual full-body screenings for all adults in Florida. Those with a personal or family history of skin cancer should be seen more frequently.
What happens if something suspicious is found?
We perform an in-office biopsy immediately. The sample is sent to a dermatopathologist and results are typically available within one week.
Is the screening covered by insurance?
Modern Dermatology is a direct-care practice with transparent pricing. We provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
What should I look for at home?
Use the ABCDEs of melanoma: Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Color variation, Diameter over 6mm, and Evolution or change over time.
